If you live in the northern midwest U.S., you’ve probably spent some time in Wisconsin Dells during the summer months. But what about when it’s below zero and there’s three feet or more of snow on the ground?
You head to one of the hotels with an indoor waterpark, and in The Dells, the biggest one is Wilderness Territory. It has four indoor water parks available for guests only.
They also have a great deal running through the end of February 2012, where a double queen room is only $99 a night for up to four persons in one room. Need more room? You can upgrade to a 2-bedroom deluxe condo for only $140 for a group of four.
These rates include waterpark passes for each registered guest and is valid Sundays through Thursdays through February 29, 2012. Use rate code I-99 for the $99 rooms or I-140 for the condos when booking.
As an added bonus for families, kids eat free at Wild Canyon Cafe. For every adult breakfast or dinner buffet purchased, get a kid’s buffet free. Monty and Molly Moose also make frequent appearances during the dining hours, so the kids can have great photo ops, too
Wilderness Territory is a self-contained resort, meaning you don’t really need to leave for any reason. But if you need more than water parks to amuse yourself, outlet shopping and a multi-plex movie theater are less than a few minutes away, as are several dining options from fast food to a pizza pub that makes its own microbrews.
Wisconsin Dells is about a three to four hour drive from either Chicago or Minneapolis. It also has a bus stop and an Amtrak station for those who prefer not to drive (no public transportation in town other than a cheap taxi service).
